Category 1 Cleaning
Released November 2020
As per the provincial health officer and the BC Centre for Disease Control:
Anyone who has had symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 10 days must self-isolate at home.
Anyone under the direction of the provincial health officer to self-isolate must follow those instructions.
Anyone who has arrived from outside of Canada must self-isolate for 14 days and monitor for symptoms.
Category 1 Cleaning has set up the following protocols to be followed by ALL staff at ALL times:
IF FEELING UNWELL, INFORM MANAGEMENT IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT ENTER WORK SITE WITHOUT APPROVAL.
Have our hard surface sanitizer available in your kit (includes OXY-Q, F-29, OXY-DST) and use at all locations. Clean cloths to be used at each site every visit.
Hands are to be washed for 20 seconds with warm soapy water or sanitized using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer before and after being at any location.
Always avoid hand contact with face while working. If you need to touch your face, please clean your hands before & after doing so.
If hair is longer, keep it pulled back and away from your face. This helps reduce the likelihood of touching your face absentmindedly
Wear a face mask when necessary i.e. when keeping a safe social distance is impossible. Using your personal mask is preferred (disposable masks available upon request). Cloth masks should be cleaned after use, disposable masks are 1x use only.
It is likely that the provincial health officer or a client may decide to make masks mandatory in indoor settings. If this is the case, your mask is always to be worn unless you first present Category 1 Cleaning with a doctor’s note stating that you are exempt from wearing one. (We will figure out with the client the best case of action if this occurs)

Phase 3 has opened up the economy and our environment but we continue to be concerned and careful as we move forward. We continue to use F-29 sanitizer as well as OXY DST hard surface cleaner to provide clean, sanitized surfaces for our clients. These products also continue to protect our staff as they work in a variety of environments and potentially coming into contact with Covid or any other viruses.
For our clients we continue to offer refills of our sanitizer when requested. More products are becoming available in the marketplace and we are keeping in contact with our providers for any new or improved products that we might want to be using.
Please contact us if we can provide any advice on maintaining your workspace safely.
Released March 12 2020
We are offering a free prepared bottle of sanitizer, F-29, for use in your office for our clients. Although this product is not currently on the approved list for COVID-19 products, Rochester Midland has assured us that it is currently undergoing testing to confirm its ability to destroy COVID-19. The company is confident that it will be added to the approved list shortly.
The SDS on the concentrated form of this product can be viewed at https://www.msdsdigital.com/f-29-liquid-sanitizer-msds.
We have diluted this product for you already. All you need to do is spray a cloth, wipe the surface & allow to air dry. As this product is food-safe it can also be used on surfaces you eat on.
As always, the best line of defense against viruses is the following:
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands
Cough or sneeze into your elbow or sleeve
Dispose of tissues appropriately
Stay home if you’re sick.
Our cleaners will be spending extra time on touch surfaces during their regular cleaning. This product will help keep the touch surfaces in your office sanitized in between visits.
